MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals
Before diving into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a few surprising features. First, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat big creatures into the battlefield when an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a bit (It is treated as playing a spell, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter Sneak in future sets from now on.
“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability since that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced game designer explained. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use Sneak.”
Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with special art created specifically for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.
Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.
In any case, below are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:
As per the company’s current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the development for over a year and we knew it would be in standard and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” the designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype focused on artifacts.
“They combine to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he says.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it includes six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your Commander based on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area instead of only one). Check them out for yourself:
The Turtle Power precon is set at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to popularity. Sources told that it includes 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an extra 37 TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)
How will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.
TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)
Typically, Wizards is offering a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:
- Nine Play Boosters
- Fifteen Foil basic lands
- 15 Non-foil land cards
- 2 Reference cards
- 1 Foil promo card
- 1 Large life tracker
- 1 storage box
Pizza Bundle
This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:
- Nine Play Boosters
- 1 Premium Booster
- Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
- Five Foil pizza-themed lands
- Two Foil pizza bundle promo cards
- Two Reference cards

If you’re wondering what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card with brand-new TMNT artwork. The team showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza. There are six distinct pizza promos in total.
The Pizza Bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Night
This unique product is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:
- Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to play draft)
- One Premium Booster (aka, the reward for coming in first)
- Ninety Non-foil basic lands (to build your draft deck)
- 10 Non-foil double-sided tokens
- 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting this expansion)
Cooperative Play Set
Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic game products specifically for new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.
The concept here that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
